Opportunity Centers – Looking at the Year Ahead

RISE Services, Inc. Arizona supports individuals living with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) with our creative services and personalized programs. One of those programs, our Opportunity Centers, offers adults with I/DD the chance to connect with peers facing similar life circumstances. Here, they not only share experiences but also acquire essential life skills, empowering them to live fulfilling, productive, and self-sufficient lives. Opportunity Centers - Looking at the Year Ahead

Day Programs

Day Programs offered through our Opportunity Centers allow adults living with I/DD to spend time together in a safe and encouraging environment. They can pursue creative hobbies, learn work-related skills, play games, and engage in many more activities. We’d like to share a few of the daily programs, upcoming events, and special gatherings your loved one with I/DD will enjoy. Most Day Programs are offered Monday to Friday and offer individuals the opportunity to participate in activities including:

  • Life skills training
  • Computer tutorials
  • Personal care training
  • Library and outdoor park visits
  • Social activities
  • And more

Our Arizona Opportunity Centers already have some engaging events added to their schedule. You or your loved ones with I/DD will thoroughly enjoy their visit to these entertaining and educational sights:

  • Hoofbeats with Heart
  • Krusin for a Kause
  • Night to Shine (Havasu and Kingman locations)
  • Hualapai Mountains in Oatman, AZ
  • Parks, movie theaters, bowling alleys, and more

Seasonal Gatherings

Seasonal and holiday gatherings are special for adults with I/DD and their families. These structured events are a great introduction to our community programs and how they benefit your loved ones. Plus, you can spend some meaningful time together watching performances by our members, engaging in creative activities as a family, and making memories with our Mother’s Day Tea and Father’s Day BBQ photo booths. Be sure to add the following events and activities to your family calendar, and don’t forget to check with your local Opportunity Center for additional dates:

  • February: Hearts and Flowers Dance
  • May: Mother’s Day Tea 
  • June: Father’s Day Festival of Games
  • July: 4th of July BBQ in collaboration with Mesa Opportunity Center
