DSP Recognition Week: 4 Ideas to Show Your Appreciation

DSP Recognition Week is underway nationwide and here at RISE Services, Inc. Arizona. We look forward to this yearly opportunity to thank all of our Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) for the fantastic and challenging work they do. Do you have a loved one that receives support from a DSP? Perhaps you have a close friend who works with and supports individuals living with disabilities and their families. If you wish to express your gratitude for their commitment and dedication, we recommend trying one of these four free or low-cost ideas.DSP Recognition Week: Ideas to Show Your Appreciation

1. Write a Thank You Note

Have you ever received a thank you note from an employer, family member, or volunteer leader? Do you remember how that made you feel? A thank you note may be a small gesture, but it speaks volumes to the recipient. Write a personalized thank you note to your DSP and share specific ways they have impacted your life or the life of your loved ones.

2. Share a Gift Card

Gift cards are simple yet meaningful tokens of gratitude for recognizing the DSPs in your circle. Something simple like a gift card to their favorite coffee or boba shop, a convenient meal via DoorDash or GrubHub card, or a one-time pass to an evening of live music or comedic improv is a creative yet thoughtful gesture.

3. Bake Their Favorite Dessert

Most people have a favorite sweet treat they simply cannot resist. A homemade or bakery-purchased, delicious dessert is a kind and tasty way to show gratitude to the DSPs you work with daily. If possible, your family member or friend who receives care from a DSP can help you bake and decorate a unique thank-you gift.

4. Create a Personalized Gift

Surprise the DSP in your life with a thoughtful and personalized gift. If you are creative or crafty, use your talent to express your gratitude uniquely. You can also create a small gift basket filled with trial-size self-care items to help them relax or a curated collection of recipes for DSPs who love to cook. When offered from the heart, a simple and genuine “Thank You” holds a tremendous amount of value.

How Will You Show Your Appreciation for DSPs?

Regardless of how you express your heartfelt thanks, a thoughtful and meaningful gift can speak volumes to the DSPs who care for you or assist your family members. To learn more regarding RISE Arizona’s services or job openings, contact us today. We look forward to hearing from you!
